Industry Guidelines Released by HUNT Biosciences

The HUNT Biosciences Board of Directors has now approved a set of guidelines for commercial use of the HUNT samples and data.

A major objective of HUNT Biosciences AS is to make this national resource of biospecimens and data available to commercial entities.  The HUNT Biobank consists of serial collections of blood components (serum, plasma, and buffy coat), urine, and primary cell cultures from a population based set of donor participants. In addition to biomaterial, our donors have submitted vast amount of information during several questionnaires, health exams, laboratory tests, environmental exposures and broad demographic information. We have more than 5.500 variables in-house and the possibility to link this to national and regional registries of clinical endpoints, prescriptions, family, and cause of-death.

These unique resources are exclusively available through HUNT Biosciences AS, a publicly owned company that offers access to Hunt Biobank and Databank under the newly released Industry Guidelines. The guidelines reflect the huge public effort made in assembling the data- and biomaterial and also the donors informed consent.
